Story
Using very simple and uncluttered visual language, to present Cantonese Opera understandable across global arts and culture. The experiences conveyed in the documentary gives a visual experience on the challenges an artist undergoes to excel in their art therefore making it relatable to all artists alike. The challenge is on representing these images that is striking and to capture
the audience’s attention right from the beginning till the end.
Visual
Due to the resource constraint the shoot is mainly a run-and-gun production, where scenes will be improvised with minimal setup on location. The challenge of the execution mainly focuses on capturing “moments of beauty”, which is important to express the sacrifices that the performers made
during their journey in order to preserve the art form.
The minimal setup also enhances the overall grittiness of the documentary, providing much rawness which removes any potential artifices that audience may notice.
